Show Season 2011

Toowoomba 2011

Shikota Rising Star once again took out Champion Adult Female. This girl (known around the paddock as Jazz) has taken out Champion every single time she has entered a show ring except once, when as a junior, she came second to the Supreme at Ballarat in Victoria. Shikota Celtic Celebration and Shikota High Spirits were also awarded ribbons in their Adult Female class. Despite being orange due to the colour of the soil near Ballina where he is agisted, one of our males, Shikota Starlight Flyer also earned himself a blue ribbon in the ring in the Adult Male class.

High Spirit's fleece was highly praised in the fleece section as well - earning a blue ribbon. Shikota took out 5 blue ribbons in the fleeces this year, including Shikota Celtic Acclaim, Shikota Ledgers Jewel, Shikota Starlight Flyer and Shikota Rising Star..  All in all, a good day out.

Gympie 2011

Gympie was another good day out for us. Shikota Celtic Celebration (Cele) and Shikota High Spirits (Heidi) once again took ribbons in their class despite Heidi having orange fleece and a rougher then normal handle due to the red soil of Ballina NSW. Shikota Rising Star (Jazz) took Champion Adult Female despite having a large, visible abscess on her hindquarters that chose to blow up and announce it's presence after we got to the show! She did not think having an abscess lanced was an appropriate reward for a champion ribbon winning girl...oh well.

Our fleeces once again took pride of place on the display with Heidi taking out Supreme Huacaya and Shikota Starlight Flyer, Shikota Celtic Acclaim and Jazz joining in the fun with blue ribbons of their own.

Royal Brisbane Show August 2010

Celtic Celebration - Ekka 2010

Ekka 2010

Shikota Celtic Celebration once again took out Junior Champion Female and Shikota Rising Star took Champion Adult Female. It was a soggy old day for all the huacayas but we were all in the same boat, having all been shedded in the Cattle Pavilion the night before.

As well as Cele & Jazz impressing the judges with their outstanding attributes there were plenty more ribbons coming in from the fleece judging. Rising Star's first fleece took Reserve Champion and we got firsts with Ledger's Icon (39mths), Celtic Acclaim (23mths) and a second place (to the Supreme) for Dream Weaver II (14mths).

Celtic Celebration's full brother Celtic Acclaim is certified and ready to work. He is currently in NSW but will be coming to Brisbane in the next month or so along with Premier Ledgers Icon. Take advantage of having these quality males available to enhance your herd's genetics.
